Lobster Live CD

Forward from Kees van Reeuwijk <reeuwijk@xxxxxxxx>...

Hello everyone,

I'm now working on the Lobster Live CD again, because I want to
demonstrate it on the Review Meeting. I need some help from other
people.

Remember that you can download the CD image (there is a fresh one!)
from:
<http://ampere.cs.vu.nl/lobster.iso>
On that CD image is a directory 'buildscripts' with all the
instructions to build your own lobster.iso from a xubuntu CD image.

It would REALLY, REALLY help me if you could give me a build script
file in the style of install-01java.sh or install-20mapi.sh (see the
build scripts directory) for your contribution. You don't have to
hack in my build scripts, you can provide a separate build script
that will be automatically run from the main build script. Again,
this would really help.

The Live CD as demonstrated on the last Lobster meeting in Amsterdam
only contained MAPI and Ruler, but we agreed to install a number of
MAPI applications on them. In particular, the following applications
were mentioned:

+ appmon (FORTH)

Antoniades Demetres has sent me two perl scripts to build and install
this application. I have written an install-30appmon.sh script based
on these, but unfortunately the perl scripts fail. Hopefully he can
debug these scripts and send me updates. (I will send him this script
separately).

+ EAR (FORTH)
This one requires java, but apart from that I don't know anything
about it.

I have written a small installer script that installs the sable JVM,
but I don't know if it is good enough for the application (it is an
open-source version that doesn't rely on Sun's class libraries).

+ Stager (UNINETT)
I don't know anything about this one.

+ ABW (CESNET)
I don't know anything about this one.

Additional points:

+ MAPI
I install mapi-2.0-beta1.tar.gz. If you want I can install a newer
version.

+ Large-scale Lobster logo (FORTH?)
Not an application, but I would like to have a large image file to
use as wallpaper on the desktop.

+ Lobster information text (Volunteers???)
Not an application, but one or more HTML files with information about
Lobster would be very helpful. Does anyone have something like this
available?
