Full Packet Passive Monitoring Sensors: Hardware and Software Challenges
Speaker - Vladimir Smotlacha, CESNET
Packet inspection is an important task of the high speed passive monitoring. Real-time processing of the full line traffic is computationally difficult problem and requires an effective combination of software and specialized hardware.
Vladimir Smotlacha received his M.Sc. degree in Computer Science from Czech Technical University and in Theoretical Cybernetics from Charles University of Prague. He worked many years as Unix system programmer and administrator. Since 1996, he is with CESNET, the operator of Czech NREN. His research interests include network monitoring, time synchronization, QoS, high speed networks and communications protocols.
